Thursday, March 29, 2012 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

The Asian World Center is pleased to announce that Mr. Weysan Dun, Special Agent in Charge, Omaha Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation will deliver the 2012-2013 AWC Distinguished Lecture at Creighton University.

Mr. Dun will discuss the current cyber threat, the challenges it presents and some ideas for mitigating the threat. This talk will characterize the overall cyber threat emanating from organized criminal enterprises seeking to make a profit, terrorist groups looking for novel ways to attack our critical infrastructure, and foreign spies wanting to steal our nation’s secrets. There will be a detailed focus on cyber crime and how it has evolved from singular criminals who conceive of and commit the crime from start to finish, to networks of criminals who develop specialties and operate as complex criminal enterprises. An examination of some of the sophisticated techniques being employed by cyber criminals will be followed by a discussion of possible strategies for mitigating the cyber threat.
