Luncheon featuring Barbara Delinsky, Breast Cancer Survivor and Best-Selling Author

On Wednesday, October 7, 2009, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Lauritzen Gardens, author Barbara Delinsky, will present "UPLIFT: Secrets from the Sisterhood of Breast Cancer Survivors". After battling breast cancer herself in 1994, Ms. Delinsky turned her energy toward the compilation of UPLIFT, a handbook of practical tips and upbeat anecdotes for those with breast cancer. Ms. Delinsky states, "It contains useful woman-to-woman hints—things the doctor doesn't say—practical advice on topics ranging from what deodorant to use during radiation, to what minimizes nausea during chemo, to how to feel feminine and upbeat". The luncheon costs $40 and is open to the public, however, registration is required and is accessible via the Center for Health Policy and Ethics' website:

Each luncheon attendee will receive an autographed copy of UPLIFT. A limited number of scholarships are available to those Survivors and Co-Survivors who, because of financial considerations would otherwise not be able to attend.
