Physical Inactivity: The Biggest Public Health Problem of the 21st Century

Creighton University is hosting this special event featuring Dr. Steven N. Blair, P.E.D. Come and meet Dr. Blair from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the presentation directly following at 5:00 p.m. Dr. Blair is Professor in the Departments of Exercise Science and Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina. He is a past-president of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity, and the American Kinesiology Academy. He has delivered lectures to medical, scientific, and lay groups in 48 states and 50 countries. His research focuses on the associations between lifestyle and health, with a specific emphasis on exercise, physical fitness, body composition, and chronic disease. He has published more than 600 papers and chapters in the scientific literature, and is one of the most highly cited exercise scientists with over 36,000 citations to his body of work, and an h=Index of 90. This presentation is open to all Creighton Faculty, Staff, Students, and the community. A light snack and beverage will be provided. Sign up for this event will be posted at a later date.
