Gates Millennium Scholarship WorkshopHarper Center, Room 3048 602 N. 20th St., Omaha, NE Friday, November 6, 2009 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
The Gates Millennium Scholarship provides the opportunity for high school seniors to complete college with funding to cover tuition, fees, books and living expenses not covered by other grants and awards they receive. If loans or work-study would be required to meet their college costs, the Gates Millennium Scholarship will replace them as well (up to their EFC – Expected Family Contribution). Students can attend the accredited college or university of their choice. 1,000 Asian, African American, Hispanic and Native American high school seniors are awarded the scholarship each year.
The application process is very intensive, but with the assistance of experienced Creighton University students and faculty, students will receive assistance to accurately complete the forms. Creighton University staff will be available to walk them through the process of applying online (the preferred method), provide technical assistance, assist them on essay responses and provide valuable input regarding the application process. Our staff is thoroughly familiar with the Gates Millennium Scholarship process and may serve as nominators if needed. In fact, some have served as a scholarship reviewers for the Gates Millennium Scholarship, and can provide insight into the application process.
