11th Annual Health Disparities Seminar: Focus on the Environment

PURPOSE:
The goal of the conference is to increase the knowledge, skills, and ability of academia, health
professionals and community to address health disparities and the effects of environmental issues;
ecological environment and built environment, in preventing and improving chronic diseases.

OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this workshop, the participants should be able to:
• Describe “Environmental Justice” and “Environmental Health.”
• Recognize the different environmental factors that define our communities’ health.
• Discuss Strategies for developing, implementing, and evaluating environmental improvements.
• Recognize the role of individuals in providing environmental justice.
