Faculty, graduate students, post-docs, research staff interested in involving undergraduate students in research are invited to this program focusing on undergraduate research mentorship.

• Participants will share challenges and successes they have had in undergraduate research and learn strategies for effective undergraduate mentorship
• Participants will learn what CUREs are, how to design them, and why they benefit student learning in the classroom.
• For Organizers: We will obtain ideas for specific needs that participants have regarding undergraduate research mentorship and CUREs that could be integrated into future workshops

Pre-assignment: Participants will be asked to complete a survey that asks them to list specific successful strategies for undergrad research, their challenges/failures with undergraduates, and also quantify and describe their experience/familiarity with CUREs

Plan: Participants will break-out into 1 of 4 anticipated breakout rooms:
1. Humanities and Social Sciences undergrad mentorship strategies
2. Natural Sciences undergrad mentorship strategies
3. CUREs-what they are and how to integrate them into your courses
4. Zoom session that may include a combination of the above three topics, depending on the participant make-up

Facilitators: Carol Fassbinder-Orth, PhD, Katherine Liu, PhD, and Matt Reznicek, PhD in collaboration with other Creighton faculty colleagues
