How do we develop Ignatian leaders who serve the public good at Creighton University? This 90-minute panel discussion offers a reflection on the types of leadership development offered at Creighton University since the 2020-2021 academic year, spurred by the Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University, the Carnegie Foundation, and insights offered from leadership across campus. Perhaps you noted several new leadership development offerings at Creighton including leadership coaching and workshops and wondered what they were. Those who created, facilitated, and participated in these learning events will share what they learned, how they’ve practiced leadership in a new way, and why leadership development is important for our campus. Finally, elements from the Carnegie Leadership for Public Purpose application, which was submitted for review in November 2023, will be shared. Creighton has the opportunity to take a leading role in effectively developing leaders in the spirit of St. Ignatius who are capable of fulfilling a public purpose. Join us to learn more!

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the alignment between Ignatian leadership and leadership for public purpose.
2. Discover current and emerging leadership development initiatives that have taken place over the past 2-3 years at Creighton University.
3. Articulate faculty and staff experiences in facilitating and participating leadership development activities at Creighton University.
4. Offer insights about beneficial leadership development offered to faculty and staff at Creighton University and suggestions for future leadership development at the University.
