Interprofessional Education: What you Need to Know

Facilitator: Kimberly Beran-Shepler PT, DPT, OCS, FNAP, Physical Therapy, Assistant Professor School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, CFE Faculty Associate

This program will focus on the basics of Interprofessional Education (IPE) including definitions, key documents and who are the essential national stakeholders. The session will highlight the major changes to the IPEC Core Competencies in the fall 2023 version. Lastly the session will discuss how these key documents and definitions are being utilized at Creighton University.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
• Define interprofessional education (IPE) and related terminology
• Explain the four core competencies domains of IPE and their recent changes
• Identify key documents that can be used to promote IPE and IPCP
• Summarize the benefits and challenges of interprofessional practice
