This Lunch and Learn will be a mini workshop, introducing faculty to the meaning and use of United Nation’s (UN’s) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as they relate to curriculum development at Creighton. Intersection with SDGs are one avenue that faculty may pursue if they wish to add a “sustainability-related” attribute to their courses. In contrast to “sustainability”, the UN’s SDGs are less well known. This workshop will introduce faculty to the meaning and language of SDGs and explore potential intersections with pre-existing courses at Creighton.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
• Identify the meaning of “Sustainable Development Goals”
• Relate those goals to a local issue of socio-environmental concern
• Connect Sustainable Development Goals to their own coursework
• Explore the potential to expand those connections in existing coursework
